- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2011To say that this book is full of great insight is putting it mildly. The wisdom and practical advice given by this author, Mr Cathy, who has lived several decades is phenomenal. There are lots of little pearls that will transform the lives of those who choose to apply them. I appreciate hearing from someone who has endeavored not only to provide jobs for his people but also to change their lives in some way as a result of their association with his organization. I particularly enjoyed reading his opinion on the use of debt and his relationships with his family and friends. This book is a very good read. Well worth the money.Wealth: Is It Worth It?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2015An easy and worthwhile read with great quotes from some of my favorite people in the world (Warren Buffet, Dave Ramsey). I think if you are to give this book a bad rating you either have to be predetermined to blindly disagree with anyone who is "Christian" no matter what or you are so much in love with your own material wealth that you can't see straight.
My favorite quote from the Buffet interview:
"Wealth is having enough. That means to some people, no matter how much they have, they can't really be wealthy because they want more than they've got"
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2022Thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories of how God blessed Truett Cathy and family and how he stewarded what God had entrusted him with.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2022Interesting to hear about Mr Cathy's humble beginnings. This book also contains practical advice on how to view and handle money or the lack of money.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2018This was a quick read that only covers his philosophy on money and what to do with it when you get it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2011This little book is an easy read, I read it in about an hour and a half. It is definitely inspiring, and though the bulk it is actually not about Chick-fil-A, the stories from S. Truett Cathy make you want to "eat mor chick'n" just to support what this wonderful, humble man created! (thus, the title of my review since they're closed on Sunday) Lots of good quotes that make you think. Would definitely recommend for some inspirational reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2023I really appreciated how Truett has handled his wealth. The book can be summed up by this one quote "wealth, is it worth it? Yes, if you give it away generously"
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2016In this book you learn from a principle centered man who did not allow his wealth and success to ruin his character or his family. Great read for anyone looking to do the same. I'll also note that many Christians feel that abundant wealth is bad, if this is you I would highly recommend this book for you as it may also help you relate to wealth in a different way.
